Default DIY - Color Change your Clock

Or you could call this, JDM Amber on the cheap!

So I've got a VX without a clock. Got a clock from the local craigslist parting out Honda's guy a lot cheaper than eBay. :-)
Anyway, I wanted to check out the options for changing the lighting color. With the Amber JDM clocks going for more than they should, I figured I could duplicate it. After all, it's just a colored piece of plastic, right. Right, it is!
I haven't decided on what color the rest of my gauges will be, so I went the Amber route on the clock, for now. I made this a PDF file so it will last a bit longer than the inline photos that often go away as the interwebs change.

Hope someone finds this useful.

Good call on the PDF. Have you experimented with any other colors?

Other colors... yes. I bought some colored transparent vinyl with a sticky side a while back to do a similar mod on a Mk3 Jetta and had lot's left over. I tried yellow, green, blue and another red. I didn't go the whole cut to shape route, just slipped it in front of the bare LCD screen to see how it looked. They all look good. Just have to decide what color you want.

$25 was too much for you?

It's not so much the price, I only paid $10 for the clock and didn't have to pull it. I've seen several on eBay for $40+. It's really just tinkering with it and making it my own. I don't live the JDM Life and now I changed it again to bright red to match the rest of my interior lights.

No harm, no foul, if you want the real thing, more power to ya!
