Default Distributors on a different type of hybrid

Hi there

I've been lurking on this forum for some time - extremely useful info here. Thanks everyone.

In addition to a passion for Honda products, I own several old Land Rovers. My 1962 daily driver could use a better breathing replacement for its old 75hp (best of times) agricultural engine, and I'd very much like to adapt a Honda engine if possible. The main limitation of such a swap is the fact that Honda distributors stick off the output side of the engine which is a problem in RWD applications.

Does anyone know of a Honda engine between say 2 and 2.5 litres with a different distributor location?

Thanks! Dave

Drugs are bad. Rovers need torque. The accord v6's and cl, tl for that matter now have coil packs. So if you do manage to get that engine in, you wont have to worry about it.

Thanks for the info - I'll check the Accord V6s. What years do you recommend checking out?

Location of torque matters more than absolute torque for off-roading. Current engine has 130lb-ft at a low 2500 rpm; even a B20 (a bit too small for this) will make most of that. And, the truck weighs 50lbs LESS than my Integra; Toyotas do great with a 2.4, and they weigh many hundred pounds more. I also need hp for pushing the brick down the highway, reliably and efficiently, and because I'm somewhat familiar with Honda engines and management systems, I'm exploring this possibility first.

Thanks - Dave
