Distributor Cap problems!!
Today i was doing a part of my tune up for my d16y8 and I decided to put on new spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap and rotor. I had no problem with the plugs, wires, or the rotor. but only the cap.
For some reason, the distributor cap doesn't fit perfectly on one corner(3 screws), but the old one does. Looking at the caps i cannot see any difference. The person who had the car before me managed to expletive up one of the three distributor cap screws so i put on only two.
Now I have a dizzy cap not fitting snuggly on one end and on the same end no screw. I was thinking of just getting a longer bolt and a nut and ghetto style it.Anyone have a better idea? But for the not fitting snuggly i have no idea what to do. I guess i could try buying another cap, but that would **** me off..
And when i turned on the car..it ran pretty rough at first and then it got a bit better, maybe even normal. Is this how it's supposed to be?
Thanks

Yeah I am, but im not worried about the gap anymore, the person who i bought it from on ht is going to be sending me a brand new one.
But, what should I do about the screwed up thread?
And was there some way to screw up the timing or anything else that would affect performance of the car while doing this?
When i first fired her up, it ran pretty weak/rough but now it seems okay. I think the car feels same in power but not totally sure.
