Default Distributor?

About a week back, my car was hesitating between 4k-5k rpm. It finally cut off on the freeway and threw codes 9 (CYP - cylinder sensor) and 15 (Ignition output signal). It started back up a few minutes later but still had the hesitation.
I went through the troubleshooting procedures on the helms manual but couldn't find the problem and couldn't get the CEL again.

There isn't a hesitation anymore between 4-5k rpm but the car feels much weaker. Should I just buy a new distributor? It feels like it doesn't pull as hard as it used to especially in 4th and 5th gear.

If it is the distributor that is causing the power loss, why doesn't the CEL illuminate again?

Thanks, any help from my Honda-Tech brothers will greatly be appreciated.

yes, BUT you have to use the h22a (p13) shaft. If you do not, it will not work. I know first hand.

I'm pretty sure that the shaft is in good condition. Thanks for the info.

Whoa, you changed your post. Code 9 is (most of the time) a code for the dizzy taking a ****. Are there any other codes?

LOL....yea I did change it. The only 3 codes that I got was 9 12 & 15. Code 12 is because egr is disabled.

After the reset I can't get codes 9 and 15 anymore. I kinda want to see those codes so I know that repairing the distributor will recover lost hp.

FYI, these problems started the same night I had my hood opened for approx. 30 min with a light drizzle(which may be the culprit).

One question, is the power loss only felt when the motor is warm and you have been driving for a bit? It sounds like a dizzy problem, but I had a friend that had almost the same problem and it turned out it was not has dizzy and it was only doing it on a warm motor and when you drove for like 10 mins.

I only test it after the motor is warm enough to engage VTEC. I will see today if it runs better when it is cold.

What was wrong with your friends motor, I will see if I have the same problem as him.

His was the o2 sensor. The o2 did not throw a code thou. I replace it and it fixed the problem. But I think your is more in the dizzy. You have a friend that has a JDM p13 dizzy? And the codes never came back?

No, I actually just unplugged it and checked the connectors and the codes never came back. Everything is still installed.
