Default disconnecting SRS when working on brakes

Just wondering if this is really neccesary, if I don't have to go through all the trouble I would rather not. I just need to replace the rotors and pads maybe.

Thanks for the help.

Mike

Not necessary, What rotors and pads did you get?

Havent really looked into them that much but Ive got a set of grooved rotors for mine now with my new steering nuckles so am going to get a set of pads that are a slightly harder material, If you get to hard pads you will score the disk and too soft pads on grooved will be eaten alive.

I'll have a shop around later this week and post back

Why would you have to disconnect the airbags to work on your brakes?

Well I was looking in the chilton's book and I keep on seeing this note to disconnect the SRS airbag system before working on brakes, and almost everything else. I don't write the stuff in the books I jsut read it. So I don't need to disconnect it to work on the brakes I take it.

Thanks
Mike

I looked through the Chilons and Helms and saw no mention SRS anywhere in either brake sections.

No you don't have to do anything with your SRS when removing brakes.
