Default Disc to Drum Conversion Problems

I'm considering buying a friend's 94 Accord as a beater car. It originally had rear disc brakes with ABS, but he took swapped it with drums from a 93 Accord. Anyway, the brakes were bleeded, but they still feel pretty mushy. Is this normal, and if not, what are possible causes/fixes? I don't care if the ABS doesn't work, but is that a possible reason that it doesn't feel right?

I just don't wanna buy a car and have it screw me over when winter and the snow comes...

The brakes are still mushy because it now needs the proportioning valve for an Accord with rear drums. The disc brake proportioning valve does not leave residual pressure on the drum brakes, which they need to work properly.

Do you know what this looks like? We still have the 93 Accord. I assume we could just swap that in...

I also forgot to ask...

Will it matter that there's no more ABS?
