diffuser/belly pan kits
wanted to test the waters on demand for such a product.
would be molded from .096 thick abs plastic. thermoformed structural spines to combat deflection caused by the suction and to channel air in a strait line under the chassis. molded in access to fluid drain points, and scoops/vents in locations where air flow may be desired.
scoops would be left solid and can be trimmed to allow air flow on your application at the time of installation.
ready to install kits would be available in either front, rear, or full kit with belly pan and would be modular( right and left front alxe forward, R and L rear axle back, and mid ship left and right) and include self drilling/tapping hardware and washers to complete installation. these kits would be designed to be tucked up and out of sight, so no fancy blades or anything rice looking.
ive not got a table to mold on yet but this is how im trying to justify building one. i want to see if people would by such a kit if it were reasonably priced.
this product is aimed at the performance category as much as the fuel efficiency camp. my first prototype will fit eg/ej coupes and sedans, and if im successful and can turn a profit i would like to offer kits for different models and makes. at which point, members who live close and want to donate their time letting me measure and fit their vehicle will get a HUGE discount (cost of parts) and recognition for lending their vehicle to my R&D process.
my passion is motorsport and im trying to become my own boss.
im thinkin front end kits would go anywhere from 100 bucks to 150, rear end kits 75 to 150, and full kits with mid ship pans for 450 to 600. price would be determined of course by vehicle size.

You posted this in one of the deadest forums on Honda-Tech. And if you think the 140 people that looked at your thread own 5th gen Civics...
I'd be interested in such a product. However, I'd be many times more likely to fab something up myself out of coroplast than to pay on the order of 100s.
Its hard to justify spending $1k on a plastic belly pan... specially when you can DIY it and get 80% of the effectiveness for a small fraction of the price. Awesome idea, but hard to market.
I realized that not long after I posted ron, when I posted I knew it wouldn't be just for g5 guys or I would have posted there, thanks though. maybe could have done better in the auto x forum.
slog and f22, I couldn't agree more... it could be done cheaper, offered as a kit I mean. just some numbers I threw out there before I really researched the cost of materials. my aim is definitely to provide a good product at a reasonable and attractive price.
im starting my process already. I have some raw materials, just no thermoform equipment. ill post pics and progress. ive been compiling pics from my most recent mods and it will all go on my build page as soon as I can get around tuit.
thanks guys
