98 jdm type r.....car recently began to shudder whenever the gas is pressed. about two days ago, I was stuck in traffic, after getting off the ramp I smelt my clutch for a good 5 minutes but car still ran normal afterwards. A few days later after a car wash, I drive away and the car will shudder under acceleration.....the same feeling you get when you have warped rotors and trying to stop, that kind of shutter. on the highway it would be more noticeable. I put the car in neutral and revved the motor but it revs freely and no shuddering while in neutral and coasting. Not sure what it is, looked under the car and suspension seems fine, brakes all working properly and axles look good. I'm hoping its not the differential but.....could it be the clutch? was done 3 years ago...its an ACT hdss and prolite flywheel. any ideas? Input would greatly be appreciated.
im having the same problem... at first i thought i was the axels so i replaced them and it was still shaking.. then i thought maybe my wheels werent balanced, did that and it still shook. then i thought it might be the wheel bearings, replaced that and it still shook.. Now im thinkin its the carrier bearing in the the diff.. i dunno. ill let you know what happens tho
