Default difference between AT and MT ECU

how can you tell the diff. between an AT and MT ecu?

depends on the type of the ECU but usually by the barcode sticker.

such as 37820-P30-901 = auto

last three digits determine whether its auto or 5spd.
auto= J50/j51/j52/900/901/902/N51/N50 and so on

plug the ecu into an OBD1 car and see if you get a CODE 19 cel....code19 = lock solenoid on AT trannys.

i would but i am buying it from someone on the internet and he thinks its auto but doesnt know for sure. there is no code????

there is a code....but I'm not too sure what is for the P75 ecu.....Try eg6ajk's suggestion or get the owner to put the ecu in his car and check for code 19.
