Default difference between d16z6 and d16y8 transmission?

I might be replacing my d16y8 transmission due to some grinding of unknown reasons. My friend showed me a good condition (no slipping/ grinding) z6 transmission for sale for a decent price. Is there a difference between the 2? In terms of performance and bolting up. They're both from the high end d series models so it can't be that much of a difference, but I would like to know of any.

I believe the differences are
1.) aluminum vs steel shirfter forks

but it should bolt up and go

Is your ZC tranny a cable or hydrolic?

the y8 is hydrolic
