Default Detontation problems w/ the b20vtec

I have a crvtec setup with 12.5-1 compression Daily driver. I came down to visit family in Seattle and it is sea level here and my detonation acted up. I was at 15 degrees and my gas had 92 + octane booster. My sparkplugs are NGK 7FR7F's from jackson racing (cold plugs). I need help on what to do to remove the pinging.

I had this same problem. I solved it by using a .062 cometic headgasket which brought my compression down to 11:1, if you have the cash then consider getting a standalone

My friends CRVTEC setup runs with that compression and one day we couldn't get it to stop pinging so we richened it up a little and backed the timing down to 10 degrees. Normally he can run it at 12 degrees on 92 octane.

If you have an fpr you can try to raise pressure as a temporary fix.

I was about to mention that. I just posted in another topic about detonation telling someone to purchase one.

Check out there page at www.JandSsafeguard.com

Thanks, J

Lower your ignition timing... 12-14deg will solve it on 92 octane

what injectors are u running?
stock injectors wont cut it with that compression
we put rc 310s in a b20 with about 13.3 compression
runnin timing at about 15 deg all day
there was another b20 that had 12.5 compression, and we tried prelude obd2 injectors which are about 290ccs and the car was still runnin lean
just remember its not higher fuel pressure what your looking for,its more fuel volume
