Hi guys,first of all I am new here,I saw here on internet.Thanks you for help people.I hope you can help me.I have 94 del sol vtec and it has a problem like fuel cute off.When I start engine,there is no problem but its rev limiter is 7200 and then it cute off.I think it should be max 8300.I know that it has 160 hp on 7600 rpm.But I cant read 7600 rpm on it.Where is the problem?My engine light is off.So car dont show error.What should I do?I reset my ecu.But still have the same problem.Please help.Thanks you

 

are you putting premium unleaded fuel in it? 91 octane minimum. also, is your ignition timing set correctly? it should be 16 degrees before top dead center. either of these could cause your knock sensor to retard ignition timing and keep your engine from performing like it should. if the computer retards timing enough, it may stop accelerating the reciprocating mass at a lower engine speed than it is capable of, such as how you say it stops at 7200rpm.

 

I am using unleaded fuel.Sometimes 95 or 98 octane.And my ignition timing is set correct.I checked my engine error code.It lights 7 times.I think it means ''throotle position sensor''. How can I solve this problem?

 

are you sure you checked the CEL correctly? it can be a little confusing. there are long and short blinks.

if your TPS is bad, get ready for some spending. around $120 should get you a used throttle body with TPS on it. otherwise, you need to find a TPS, maybe $75, and install it and set it up properly. a new TPS sensor isn't a bolt-on-and-go deal.

i threw TPS, MAP, and some other code a while back and it turned out to be some loose wires in my slightly hacked up passengers' side kickpanel. that is to say, if you have an aftermarket fuel tuner, check those wires.

 

I checked everything my friend.I looked up the error codes from warning light.It lights 7 time shortly.And wait some seconds,then light 7 times shortly again.Not longer.Shortly.What is it?Is it tps? maybe I am thinking my tps couldnt adjust correctly? I bought my del sol vtec 1 year ago.Old owner said me that:I change the tps.Do you think that itsnt original tps?Is there any different these tps?so maybe its different and it cute off 7200 rpm?Thanks for your help

 

you can try recalibrating your TPS, but if that doesn't work, just get a new one. get a manual for your car so you know what you're doing with it, but that's what you'll need to do (reread first sentence).
