Default db2 runs like crap

to make a long story short I put several engines in the db2. I have replaced the fuel pump 3 times. car runs like crap unless I have the return line for the gas pinched completely off running about 80 pounds of fuel. this is the only time if the car runs semi ok. my question is do you think that the fuel lines could be clogged how do you check them. maybe I should just run some new ones I don't know.

what I think is happening is by pinching off the return line building up 80 pounds of pressure so when I accelerate through a gear eats up to 80 pounds maybe 30 pounds,. then I shift it goes back up to 80 pounds and I can get to the next gear comfortably. but this doesn't work anymore either the car just generally feels like its running out of gas.

Change out that FPR , u can blow thru the feed & return lines but u need to disconnect them from the tank so as to not put the trash in the tank ,if there is any? Ur just gonna have to do work son, i would personally drop the tank after i tried the above first with no sucess to make sure the lil feed tube that the pump drops into is not kinked but to me it sounds like FPR maybe someone else chime in here. 80 psi is way to high for a N/A motor i would think. Whats ur setup?

Fuel pump circuit may be weak due to ground corrosion

-Sorry took so long to respond or post back... just haven't worked on this car. moved and just got air hooked up and started on the db2 again.

-In the last week i dropped the tank blew out the hard lines. They are in very nice shape inside from what i can tell. (just gas, no contaminates)

-In the last week i have dropped the cat, replaced the o2, checked the o2 wiring (Per Helms, car and o2), compression test (above 150 in all), Injector ohms in spec. newer plugs

-?when I pulled my plugs they were covered in fuel? (40lbs)

- just odd to me because more fuel pressure fixes the drive-ability problems i have??

- will hardly stay started 40 lbs of fuel(not pinched)

- when started car will bog immediately, and will die if you press gas pedal.

-If you pump the gas.. though the bogging i will rev up high. above 3000 rpm if i wanted.

-without the return line pinched, db2 can not be driven.

Back ground

-db2, I've owned it for years. Over 10 years This db2 has an b18a right now.
-It has had 4 motors. In order b17,b16,b18c,b18a
-All 4 have been down on power
-Just thought that is how they run in this car, until performance was even lower and I started checking things. This is how I figured out to pinch fuel return line.
-After pinching fuel line b18a was instantly the fastest motor the db2 ever.
-I thought I had figured it out! fuel!
-Installed b&m fuel press gauge, fuel Press is in spec.
-Replaced: Iac,countless o2s, 4fuel pumps,fuel filter,gas cap,Fuel regulators,
-if I think about it all four motors worth of stuff
-I change my mind all the time. At this point I don't think its (I just changed my mind) (I think its electrical over fuel at this point)
-I even said F-it and drove the car with the pliers clamped on the return line for 3 years!
-Thank you
-I have other cars don't even need this car.

I like your thinking. What ground are you referring to? i think what im asking is how do i go about checking how the ground flows to the pump? I have a power probe, im sure that i checked ground but Ill check again tomorrow. I checked the voltage at the fuel pump, and re-flowed the solder joints in the main relay.
