Dashpot Diagram??

Dashpot Diagram??
Hey guys. I was looking on top of my obd0 throttle body and noticed that there was an area that looked empty. My friend said the map sensor went there. But the b16 manual says a dashpot diagram goes there. What the hell is that? Are they expensive? Do i need it? Any help would be great.
