Default Dart Blocks

im debating on whether to do a b20 dart block with all the good **** or go with a used block that has to be cleened decked bored and sleaved the 1900 for the block seems like alot but for the quality your getting and the fact youll prolly spend that much between the block and the machine work. does anyone have any good experience with dart blocks?

you'll be pretty satisfied with the dart block. my friends got one. the quality and appearance alone is awesome. the block comes with all the plugs that go on the block, make sure to retighten them. it also comes with mains. on top of the block it has a hole dirlled for the vtec oil. the design of it is basically like a gsr. you need oil squirters too. i would rather buy the dart block only if i had all the miscellaneous parts to go with it, remember it's just the bare block and mains that your getting. if you don't have all the parts then go ahead and buy a b20 or ls longblock, a block that already has the oil pan, nuts, bolts, seals, etc. then just go ahead and sleeve that one.

I am the one that built the dart motor that torr is talking about, and if you go that route you are better of buying a blown b16 adn getting all the parts of it, like, pan, pump, brackets. If not it will get VERY spendy. We have about 13-15grand in this setup so far.

yeah, very costly..but your gonna want VTEC oil pick-up, windage, and oil pan..not the LS/B20 ones...

what exactly does the block come with? someone said plugs but im curious if it comes with a drivetrain or not. and just because they come with vtec holes, you dont necssarily have to go vtec right?dont wantoil pouring out a hole.

The block comes with nothing at all, not a single bolt or anything, just the block maincaps and main bolts thats it. The plugs i was talking about are the freeze/casting plugs, these have to be sealed via teflon tape or what ever. The block is a vtec block based of a gsr. Im sure you could run it without a vtec head but why would you?

Beautiful Block! Honestly, if i had a job and some money saved up, id soo buy that block off you!
..but im just wondering..what kindve Deck Plate is that..? Golden Eagle? Are you suppose to weld it down? ..or is it just a gasket in between block and deckplate and gets sandwiched between Block and Head to ensure a seal??? Thanks for a reply..

its a golden eagle block, no welding, its a different design than other companys. the reason i didn't want to take it to a shop get it weld it is because i'm scare people might heat up the block too much when they weld it and might mess up the block. and with Golden eagle deck plate, i can always take the deck plate out and go back to a stock gsr block without the deck plate.

hey man i'm taking reasonable offers, the price for this block would below dart's block's price away

I would imagine at very least you'd have to run a longer stroke crank... What did you have in mind when building the block? It's very "cute" I'd buy it if I had a job, no wife, and could have some fun...

Jeff at IB already have pistons and rods, all he have to do is order them. the rods would take 2-3 days to get them and the pistons i beleive he already have it in stock.

with the right setup this block should make over 250+.... thats my guess, but jeff said it should make over 270+. so it all depends on the setup.

[bold] but like i said, the pistons and rods, jeff or i can get them no problem and it won't be like months and months wait. i would say your waiting time is only a week[/bold]
