dancing speedometer

Default dancing speedometer

yesterday i was drivin my 97 civic ex and i was at a red light. the light turned
green and i shifted into first and went and all of a sudden my check engine
light came on and my speedometer is dancing around the speeds like crazy.
even when i sit still it still goes all over the place...i prob the only car
in my hood that does 110 while sittin still lol....and my lights also dim
when i hit the gas now anyone have the prob or know whut it might be?

Sounds like a bad alternator fuse or alternator it self... Check it out...

had this problem before, check your speed sensor. sometimes it's the sensor itself that goes bad or gets water in it, or it's the wiring to the speed sensor. i had this happen to my hatchback before. i lost 10 horsepower because of it. my friends and i thought it was hillarious when i was going 220 kmh when really i was just rolling. if that's not it then i don't know what it is. let me know.
