D16Y8 build complete!
Hey Guys, anyone out there done a .020 Endyne RW (or similar) piston swap with Eagle rods H beam (or similar) builds? What did you see on the dyno, or track? I'm taking one to dyno and tune, just curious what I might see.
98 D16y8block, D16y8 head (skunk2 springs, retainers and valves), 2000 IM w/ gsr inj, all basic bolt ons, AEM fuel ****, Jackson Fuel pump, breaking in on stock cam, all fully balanced blah blah blah, cam gear, Skunk2 ecu program... basic idea.
Thanks guys!

how can you assume 160 whp when all you know is that it is .020? I would assume you will only see small differences from stock with .020 overbore. If you went forged, you can expect to be able to produce more power from boost or nitrous but if your compression is stock, there won't be much improvement. Tuning will net a few horsepower but don't get your hopes to high. If compression is stock, expect to see somewhere in the neighborhood of 130-140 whp. This is still a nice setup for a Dseries.
I am currently rebuilding my Y8 and am planning on running A6 pistons to bump the compression to 10.3:1. After I mill the head .002, I should achieve a compression closer to 11.0:1. With some p&p on the head, intake manifold, and throttle body, this should be a nice lil setup. This will be run on a OBD-0 PG7 (88-89 teg) ECU, with Si intake mani. I have a HP Racing header and will tune with FPR and adj. cam pulley. Also, I will have 450cc injectors in for a small shot of nitrous just to be safe.
Best of luck on the dyno and sorry if I sound pescimistic but it's better to hope for something realistic rather than be let down.
