Default d16y7 crank position sensor question, please help

My 98 civic original y7 just froze, I was wondering if I can use z6 or blocks that does not have the "crank position sensor" from 92-95 civic without throwing the code? Or that sensor has to be plugged in?

thanks

I beilieve the crank sensor is on the oil pump? You can just use a obd2 pump that has the sensor. Or just get a chipped ecu.

The motor locked up because or no oil. Not sure if the oil pump is still ok.

I'll check it out.

thanks.

Sensor plugs in near / behind the crank pulley, and yes you need that. There is a way to bypass it though.
