Default D16 Question

I have done some research and couldnt answer the question, which is can a D16z6 head fit on a d15z1 block and if so where can i find these heads because no local places have any. Also i would like to know what heads will fit this block and what year and make are they from. Also what all would be needed to make this swap possible and what kind of power gains could i expect to see?

a z6 head is out of Civic EX/Si /Del Sol Si 1992-1995. i havent done the swap personnaly but i believe it falls under the mini-me swap category.. and youll go from about 92 hp to about 130ish because of upped compression and vtec. search for mini-me and youll get the answers you need. most all 88 and up d series heads are compatible with d series blocks.

Yes.

They sell daily on ebay for about $75.

It doesn't matter - the z6 head you are asking about is already the best possible option.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Also what all would be needed to make this swap possible </TD></TR></TABLE>

-New set of head bolts
-New head gasket
-P28 ECU

That depends. Your vtec-e motor not only has a crappy head, it also has a crappy intake and exhaust components. Once you swap to a vtec head, you'll also want to open the intake up. If you can't afford headers and a cat-back, then at least upgrade to a z6 exhaust manifold (about $60 on ebay).

If you do the head swap, get an AEM intake, and at least get the z6 exhaust manifold, then you should easily see 130hp.

ok well i have a full exhaust headers back and an intake. plus the head will be P&P. but will the headers i have now fit because they are expensive headers but the intake is ebay quality. and i was think about goin with a y8 IM for a bigger airflow. Any opinons?

Sounds good. HP is a hard estimate with so many new variables, but you could easily be at 150+ hp.

Yes

Sounds like a great choice.
