Default d16 heads

I was wondering how to tell what head a car has on it because my friend is selling a head he says its a vtec head but i want to know for sure before i buy it

the only vtec head for d16 is d16y8 the d16y7 isnt vtec but im not sure how to tell the driffernce by looking at them ill pm you when i find out forsure my friend is comming over and im sure he will know

This is very simple. If the head has a VTEC solenoid, then it is a VTEC head. If the head doesn't have a VTEC solenoid, then it isn't a VTEC head.
