So far I have blown up a d15b engine and a d15b7 engine within the last 6 months, now I am building one from scratch. Does anyone know if the cranks in these two engines are the same and what other differences are there or is the 7 just a tranny code number?

 

One's a Vtec and ones a non vtec for sure. The d15b is the JDM motor, I belive it has stronger internals but im not quite sure. I know for sure its rated for 130hp, while the d15b7 is rated at 102hp.

 

okay so besides the stronger internals, would the heads and computers be different because right now, the last time I blew it, it was the d15b block with the d15b7 head and now it only runs on first...second and fourth cyl. third cyl. has no compression what so ever! The d15b was sent over from japan by "Japan Auto" in canada with no computer and I don't know what went wrong because I was'nt coming on to it at the time?

 

the B7 in D15B7 is the code for the head.
