d15 sohc vtec
i just recently picked up the d15 swap from a engine importer and was wondering what the gear ratio is. is it the same as my d16vtec? does the transmission with lsd have a shorter ratio or longer or are they all the same?

It sounds like you picked up an EG4/VTi engine, equivilent to our 92-95 Si/EX D16Z6 engine, but in 1.5L form. If it is, the gear ratio is exactly the same as our Si & EX models, and no, the LSD tranny does not have shorter gears, it too has the same gear ratios as our Si/EX models.

Correct, Same ****. If it says A000 or something like that on the bell housing, it's probably a VTi tranny (assuming it is japanese tranny not US)

Quick question: dont want to change the subject but, ey what is the difference between the jdm d15b engine and the d16z? Other then one being 1.6 liters and 1.5 liters, or one jdm and one usdm. Probably going to get flame but doesnt hurt to ask. Right? hehe.
. also is anyone engine better then the other? tkz.

mechanical wise....its the same as our Z6 minus the 1.6L factor, oh and the optional LSD transmission some D15B's come with.
