Ok I have done searches and havent found much about this. Here is the problem.
I have a 92 D16z6 w/ d16a6 pistons the head is ported and polished
it is in my 90 honda crx still obd0 running the crx si ecu w/ apexi vafc to control vtec All the seals and rings are new. I also have a skunk2 adj cam gear w/ the d16a6 intake manifold. The motor had an code 10 IAT sensor, so the motor had a check engine light for while, it is now fixed.
Problem
When you rev the motor it will begin to smoke. I assumed it was the rings. A guy some might know david "he had a one piece front end on a silver crx here in central fl" Anyways the question at hand he mentioned that with another minime type swap he did had the same problem, now this guy has built motors and know what he is doing. He told me to fix the other motor they had to adj the cam gear and distrib timing, with lots of trial and error to fix it. Now I know when I built my motor that the timing was fine has anyone ever heard of this problem and also heard of this being a way to fix it. I babyed the motor to 1000mi and always shifted around 4500rpm. The gaps and everything were to spec just trying to figure out where this went wrong. Any ideas would help thanks
