Just wanted to add to the mix by saying that any D15B1/D15B2/D15B7 and D16A6 stamp codes are interchangable. Simply, it's the same head, just different cam and springs. So a D15B7 can have a PM3 stamp, not just a PM9 just like a D16A6 could have a PM9 stamp.
Found this tidbit of info on SOHChonda.com Engine spec sheet. If you notice the specs for the heads are all identicle as for valve size head height etc etc etc.
Borrowed the pic from Anthony over at SOHCHonda.com.
hey there need some help bad. I have a 93 hatch the block has this on it.

the head says this.
p2j-7 on the left and 98 on right side. I cant find this anywhere on the site. the only one that looks like it would be it was a auto or something. but my car is a 5 speed and has the 98 on the right side. someone told me its the jdm version of the d16z6 is this true?? cuz I just bought a d16z6 head an want to put it on the block?? also had a vtec solenoid on the head and run strong an fast but took cover off and had no lost motion rail??? **** is crazy please help
Yes I'm sure it was a vtec selenoid. Can I post pictures on here. I'm new on here so I don't know much about using this site yet an haven't been getting much help so I didn't know if people posted much on here. But it was a vtec selenoid but when I took it off the head unit it looks a little different where the selenoid goes on the d16a than when I took the vtec selenoid off the d16z6 the area where the selenoid go look kinda different almost maybe it wasn't to go there on the d16a?? Idk. But what did u say does it have 2 rockers? What do u mean
Sorry I worded that last post wrong what do u mean by a 3rd rocker? It looks exactly same as my new head from a d16z6 vtec except when I took the valve off the d16a did not have a lost motion rail and the z6 did. That's only difference and the head bolts are different lengths but same thread size

I have an Automatic '96 Civic DX with the standard D16Y7 and a casting # P2F-HA-2.
I'm actually curious if anyone knows whether or not the P2F-HA-3 will bolt on with all the stock parts I have. If not, which Y7 casting numbers are compatible with my head? I need to replace it since it's cracked.

Would like to know if a Y8 intake is interchangeable with the d16z6 (p08-5) head. I have a Frankenstein engine in my 96 Honda Civic(not the original for year).I'm trying to make it run right Im tired of searching for parts on this enginge , i bought it at an auction and it smokes bad. Replaced valve seals and head kit and still smokes bad and leaks oil between head and block
