Default Cylinder burn mark and scratches

So what would cause a burn mark on top of all 4 cylinders like this?

Any ideas why my piston/rings are scratching every cylinder. Everything was in specs when assembled.

You did gap the rings before assembly right? It's common for people to intentionally/accidentally skip doing it.

What kind of pistons are they? What was the piston to wall clearance?
