CX bottom EX head need info
I'm getting a 92 civic hatch CX, and I have a SOHC Vtec head that i could put on the car. I was wondering if anyone has done this so i could find out what i would need to do to get this up and running.
I believe the CX is 8-valve, right? If so, the recesses in your pistons (if any) might be weird. If not, then you just need the ecu, or an rpm switch to turn on the vtec solenoid, but it's not as good, because it could run lean.
same thing as a ls/b20-vtec. But you will need to switch out the pistons. The cx has an 8 valve motor with only two valve reliefs per piston. the vtec head has 4 valves per. I've heard that ZC pistons put d15-vtecs at a "good" compression. Might want to invest in a ex/si tranny too.
I'll have to check on the valves. Is the anything that has to be done as far as getting extra oil to the head. I thought that i have heard things about non vtec vtec swaps sometimes starving for oil.
I already have an si tranny on it. if nothing else we were going to try putting the ex intake manifold on the cx, and also put the exhaust manifold on it
I found out that the cx bottom end and the dx bottmom end are the same part numbers at honda. so it should work. does anyone know what head gasket to use, and any other parts that i'll need?
