Default CV Boot Set -install

I am helping a friend with a 1996 Civic LX. Are there any concerns with a CV Boot Kit install? I mean do I need to replace any seals or washers (in addition to what comes with the kit) when I take the drive shaft off to put the new stuff on? Also will there be enough lube with the kit or do I need more? And if so what kind?

I've done a few of these on other cars, mostly German and a few military vehicles.
I already did a search of the tech archives and didn't find what I needed.

Any help would be great. Thanks.

Easy as pie

You need to remove the inner joint. Remove the three bearing carrier by removing the snap ring at the end of the half shaft. Then just slide the old boots off and slide the new ones on. The boot replacement kit should come with all the lube you need. DOnt overfill the new boots or they will leak (explode is more like it. I did that once and it wasnt pretty. I was cleaning axle grease off the engine bay for hours )

Coolio, thanks Mike.

Hopefully I can find OEM parts for cheap.
