custom gears...????
Does anyone know where to get a set of custom gears cut???? Quaife doesn't have what I need. I'm looking for a 3.500 final drive for a b16a cable tranny...Are there any suggestions????
Hmmmm......I have the same question as well.
I bet he is trying to do the same thing I am....put a VTEC powertrain into a classic Austin Mini. The problem is that we have to use tires with a 20" overall diameter instead of 23" like Hondas.

Nice, you probably know about these guys http://www.gomini.com/fs/vtec/vtec.htm. I guess they're flaring and going to 13"/14" rims to solve the gearing issue rather than staying with (what is it?) 10's?

Actually, there isn't much difference in the rolling diameter between 10" and 13" wheels when you have low profile rubber on the 13"s. The 10" tires all have a very tall sidewall.
The performance driven reasons for going to "large" (for a Mini) wheels are to fit larger brakes, and better selection of rubber (although not in the States).
Thanks for the lead on Houseman.
