Default CTR rings on CP pistons?

I'm looking at a set of used CPs for my build from FastAssEG in the classifieds.. I have a set of new CTR std. bore rings. does anyone know if there is even a chance of them working with those pistons??

most likely will not work, just call cp and get new rings, they are probably like $100 for a set

id trust CP's input but for some reason i doubt the height and depth of a CP ring is the same as a oem honda. also make sure u file the rings correctly

yea.. I measured both comp. rings and sent them the specs. As soon as I get the pistons, I'll check the gaps.. oh and about the filing, I've seen that being done, and know we have the tool at work, but what's the procedure??

i would just use CP rings man. dont chance it. use the rings specified for the piston. there is no advantage to using oem rings
