Default CTR pistons in a C1?

I'm thinking of bumping up my compression with the CTR piston's to around 12.0:1 and I'm completely redoing the head with a JUN 3 package. what I'm woundering is if the rods will hold the power or should I replace them?

your compression ratio in a b16c1 will be 12:3:1

b16c1???? doesn't exist are you talking about a B16B?
Anyways if some of you guys misunderstood me I'm getting a B18C1 and I'm thinking of bumping the compression to 12.0:1 using the CTR piston's, I was asking if anyone would recommend doing this without replacing the rods?

Don't bother witht he pistons and get the bump sticks.

Just in case you decide to turbo later.

Without replacing rods is fine.
But you will be 12.5 or so with ctr pistons.

What mods have to be done to install the CTR pistons in a B18C1? Is it just in and out or what?

Thanks
Jay

I'm just doing some research on compression and also if anyone has done this, I saving up for the motor right now and I plan on going with a JUN 3 head package so I just want to know how the rods and CTR piston's will hold out

balance the rods and build it right and you shouldnt have any problems

according to c-speedracing compression calculator, ctr pistons in b18c1 would yield about 12:1 compression

they are wrong.
they only take into account dome volume, they forget about compression height.

So you are sayin that the dome volume (in cc's) doesn't take the place for figuring in dome... I'm pretty sure that calc also figures in the piston to deck... According to my own calculations, NOT using an online calc such as the C-Speed one i get ~12.1:1... As for the rods just as everyone else has said they will be fine.... If you weren't considering it I would also take the time to bore the block .25mm over and run oversized CTR pistons.. It's nice to have new clean cylinder walls for the rings to seat... As for that combo with the JUN3 setup, you should make some pretty good power once tuned... Those cams love ~12:0:1+... When my friend had them awhile back in his CRVTEC they made awesome top end power, right up until ~8800rpm... Anyways that motor blew when the cam shattered but it was really his fault because we were just running Portflow springs... Oh well... Good Luck
