Default CTR/ITR Idling Issues

Hey everyone I would really appreciate some help! I'm running a ctr block with an itr head p28. Since I swapped it into my CX a year ago it has always idled at around 2K until you engage VTEC. RPM's would drop but idle up and down continuously after vtec. I wasn't sure if this was how the Type R idles or what. It was getting way to hot in the summer so...

Took it it Honda and they adjusted my ignition timing because it was apparently way to high. Had to fix a TPS wire as well. Now the car runs like absolute ****.

I tried driving it with my stock ECU as well....same thing. If you drive it and hit VTEC you loose ALL power low end. With the stock ECU i hit the 6500 rev limiter and stopped at a light, lost low end power. I have to rev at about 4 K in 1st gear when the motor is acting up in order to get off the line. As well in 1st gear if i take a slow start the thing starts going haywire at about 2700-3000 RPM as if someone was taking their foot on and off the gas. I know its not the ECU....does anyone have any ideas? the thing idles very randomly and is just bogging out big time low end, VTEC works mint, it just takes 10 seconds to get to it

Default Re: CTR/ITR Idling Issues (HB92Civic)

are you throwing any codes? check out your idle air control valve, might need to be cleaned or replaced and you might have some ignition stuff going on too.. whens the last time you did a full tune up? have you ever messed with the screw on your throttle body that the throttle rotor sits on when the pedal isnt pressed? this will increase your idle speed but not in a good way at all, messes other stuff up. if you know or it looks like the screws been tampered with adjust it back down so the idle drops closer to 800 rpm, but if the idle keeps going up and down its probably your idle air control valve (IACV) try cleaning it first, if that doesnt work replace it

sounds like the tps was not adjusted right and you might have a vaccum leak. i thought the ctr/itr had the same head but with different cams??
