What else do you have done to your car?

Also, why did you stop at 7,700? The whole point of CTR cams for me would be 1/2way useful power up to 9000/9500ish. Why did your dyno stop so low? Please don't say I NEED a Jun stage 3 valvetrain for this!!!

I'm planning on throwing a CTR valvetrain on a ported PR3 head riding on a b20 block w/ JE 12.5:1 pistons/eagle rods/balanced crank with a LSD Y1... Workin on finding a block now... Got most of the rest.

OEM cams are pretty good midrange wise on the RPM band. But if you want power to 9K.... your going to have to get JUN3 or Toda C type cams. Agressive cams make power up top.. and as good as the "R" cams are... they are still OEM and not designed to go that high. And also.. if you plan on reving that high.. JUN's or not.. you will have to upgrade your valvetrain.

Add some ti. retainers and there should be no problems spinning to at least 9000 RPM, though there won't be much power up there with CTR cams.

shut down at 8k for obvious reasons. the car was not making anymore power. as for mods, i ran open exhaust but still have the original exhaust manifold, which is why the power dips down up top. a CTR/ITR valve train is nice, but if you really want to spend the engine that high, you have got to buy a $$$ valve train, not to mention, like these guys have already said, OEM will onyl go so far. best result NA will be from a $2k top end (toda c's, springs, retainers, valves, headgasket, etc...) hope that helps!
