Crower Stage 1
Today I fianlly had my cam put in(d16y8), and it just needs to be tuned now. I am going to the DYNO on Sat, and I am trying to save some time. I dont have a FP Regulator, but the cam gear is set at 0' right now. What degree should I try first? I want power in the 4000-7200 range. Anyone have any suggestions? Should I get a FP Regulator? I have heard good and bad things about messing with the fuel pressure. Thanks in advance.
If you want an FPR go for it. The cam will let in more air than the stock one so a couple psi increase couldnt hurt. I believe that if you advance the cam you will increase low end power and retarding it will move the power up. Someone correct me if Im wrong.
you will probably need a adjustible FPR since your letting in more air so you want to compensate with a little more fuel..............
did you do basline runs before you installed the cam? it would be interesting to see how much of a diffrence the cam made!

yeah i did. i had 119.8 whp, and next week i am going to get the car tuned agian. i cant wait to see the results. It feels alot stonger (even in 5th gear) w/o the FPR.
But thanks for the help guys!

well before the cam, i had i/h/e, and a camgear. (i dont know why i ever got the cam gear.. i didn't do much with out messing up something else.) I just keep the plugs, wires, valves, fuel lines/injection, syn oil, filters, fluids, throttle body, and everything really clean, and changed often. Then when I dyno tuned it, they did a few things with the timing, and cam gear. it made 118.5, 117.90 and with timing it made 119.8whp the peak TRQ was only at 105.3 to the wheels @ 4700 rpms... the peak was from the CAI, it only lasts from 4000-5000 rpms then there is a drop, and the it picks up again with VTEC, not that high-- but pretty high. However now with the cam... every RPM feels like the area did around the 4000-5000rpm range. The car really moves now. It is fun to drive. I am very happy. I can't wait to tune it and get it running right. I am getting a bit worried about traction though... the wheels have a lot more spin/loss of traction (new tires--yokohama) when I am coming out of a parking lot, or taking off from a light. And that is from a 1500rpm launch. (if you call that a launch). I'm not into road racing or that kinda thing... but i just wanna burn a 6th gen Si... then I can sleep well at night. I've never had a run at one ever... just seen them(everywhere)... the drivers never really seem to want to run their cars very hard ever. Must be pricey cars.

only? the jdm b16a i had in my car only made 102.. nice numbers

well i dont know that much about the pressure, blah blah, temps, how tight they tie the car down, tire size... etc... but it was 104, 104, and 105 (<after the timing). so it was pretty accurate. Why can i only post 5 posts every 24 hours! when does this "trial deal" end? Does anyone know if it's safe to rev to 7200 rpms with stock springs? will i float a valve? Thanks in advance!
