crower or skunk2 camshafts?
im havin a hard time on deciding on which cam to buy. im choosin between crower 403 and the skunk stage 2 cams. i did my research and both of them seem to be good. which one is better? im gonna upgrade all my valvetrain..gonna be for street/strip..mostly strip tho..opinions please. thanx
if you went with crower i would go for the 63402's. the 403's alot of people have trouble tuning and require so much more engine work to make good power with. plus the power is all in the high-end.....
skunk2 stageIII is better than crower3, they both require alot of tuning and hardware/software support to make proper power...
Well, I run the Crower 402's right now. They require the Crower valvetrain too, and some sort of aftermarket programming (VAFC, etc.) for the ECU. I ran with a stock ECU for a week before I got the Hondata installed. I got 10 whp just by installing them, and I expect another 10 whp could be had by adjusting the cam gear timing. These cams move the VTEC engagement point to ~6000, its pretty cool when the motor engages VTEC, the cams add a lot of top end. I suspect they take away some bottom end, because my motor doesnt really come alive until after 3500 rpm...

would anyone like to explain why skunk2 stage 2 over the crowers? wat makes em better? again this is for a fully built ls vtec with a ported head..
compare the numbers...
Skunkworks Stage III INTAKE LIFT. 0.504, DURATION 270, EX. 0.465, 279
Crower3 0.472, 260, EX. 0.466, 250
The Skunk piece is just more aggresive!
