Looking for a way to cross reference for parts. I am restoring a 1st gen Prelude and I know that some parts are direct cross over to Accords and Civics of that time but I have not found a way to reference these. I am doing a lot of salvage yards hunts and it would help to have some idea if I should waste time looking at certain vehicles.

 

I'm no expert, but I'll throw in my 2 cents.....
I've got an 81 accord.....
I'm pretty sure that you can swap any relevant parts from a 79-83 on prelude or accord (2-door AND 4dr). They had the same engine. The 1.8liter (Or to be more specific the 1751cc EK1) and as far as I know they have the same transmission (Don't know if the gearing is different, can anyone else help?). They may even have the same setup in terms of suspension (On the front at least) but I wouldn't be suprised if the rear was the same. I think they were all pretty much exactly the same except for the obvious (Body style and shape, but I bet the seats are swappable) but I think the mechanicals are all the same. I have a lot of manuals for the 1st gen honda accord (and some for the preludes, 79-86) and they always list procedures and specs as being exactly the same for the 1st gen Accord and the 1st gen Lude.
