CREAK IN MY BODY WHEN MAKING TURNS
When I make turns in my 92 Accord EX sedan, it makes this annoying creaking sound. Even when I'm stopped, and turn the wheel, it does it. There are 4 bolts holding together the underbody just aft of the oil pan and tranny oil container. When I tightened them, the sounds went away, but returned a couple weeks later. Whats my problem? And please dont say just keep tightening them.
did you check for any cracks in the axle?....the could be the problem as well. i dunno, jack the car up and take a look. is it a ticking sound?....
Hey Won't be Beat, just keep tightening them.. if it works, then why not go with it!
Just kiddin bro, You have to determine if the sound is coming from inside or outside of the vehicle..
If it happens when you are stopped narrows the field down quite a bit..
If outside the car..
Check the lower ball joints for damaged/cracked boots, lock nut tightness.. the boot may be in good condition, but the ball joint stem could be dry and causing friction in the "knuckle" assy..
Check the transaxle nuts and make sure they are tight...
If inside the car...
Check the "knuckle" assy. on the steering column and check the rubber bushings where the column meets the firewall. poke a little hole in the cover under the column and spray some lube in there, all the while working the steering wheel back and forth..
last and not least..
check the boots on the steering rack for any damage, see if the tubes on the boot are connected and not restricted.. disconnect the tubes and spray some lube in the P/S rack boots as well...
