Crankcase evacuation question-- OBD2 LS/Vtec PCV system??? I need help!!!!!
I read all through dasher's crankcase evac. writeup, and Ive searched all over the place but I cant figure a way to do this without drilling and tapping the block, which I dont want to do.......
My block is a 01 B18B1, and as you know the OBD2 LS blocks dont have a catch can on the back of the block. I need to do something soon cause my little breather filter isnt doing the trick anymore(after I put the vtec head on). From the little info Ive found about this, I will have to drill a hole in the block, tap it and put a hose fitting to run the line. The breather filter was fine when I had the stock LS head on, but as soon as I put the GSR head on **** started spraying out of it(I put the BF on the GSR head), it never did that before. Can someone with an OBD2 LS block can tell me how they did thier crankcase evac setup? Is there a plug or plugs I can take out like on the vtec and OBD1 blocks(see pic) to run the hose?

I think the only place that the crankcase pressure is escaping is the little nipple on the valve cover, where I have a 3' long hose with the breather filter at the end. It is constantly smoking and shitting oil and crap all over the place too, so I need to fix this asap. Please help me out somebody!!!!

Yea, just buy two of those fittings and two washers, remove the plugs shown in picture and run hoses from them. So you only have one nipple venting the entire engine and no pcv valve? Is that right?

But like I said in the first post, my OBD2 block doesnt have the stock black catch can... I couldnt see back there good enough to tell if the 2 plugs are there in the same place--> are you saying that they are there just like other B-series motors that have the catch can? That would be great

Mine had a factory black box (catchcan) but i didn't use that hole. I plugged it and used the two fittings in the picture. I belive all B series blocks have these two allen plugs but i'm not 100% sure. Follow dashers write up and you will be good to go
I read dasher's whole write-up. I also searched and found out that OBD2 LS blocks have a whole different PCV system, without a black catch can. Thats what I have and I was hoping it had the same plugs, but I bet it doesnt. Ill get my lazy *** under there tomorrow and see, its just so much easier to sit in my computer chair and ask H-T than to jack up my car and look for myself
