crank main seal, troubles

crank main seal, troubles
well im having issues install the main seal behind the crank on a b18c1
every1 says its easy and such , it is thought to a certain extent
my worry is there is a circle spring inside the ring of the seal, and every time i try to pus the seal on with my fingers or a 32mm socket, it would sit then pop off, i know its not on all the way but when it comes off
the spring inside comes out of its sleeve, and i have to put it back in, i would think that if i had just kept pushing it on and that spring was still poped off in the back, it would cause some problems, so i always took it off and kept tryin it again,
are there any tricks on putting the seal on smoothly with out the spring inside poping off?
i really hate putting this seal on, others are fine, oh yea the motor is still in the car too
