Cracked Valve Cover!!!
Here's a situation that I can't figure out. My 99 Si B16 valve cover has a tiny crack on it and is leaking a little bit of oil. I can't figure out how and why it happened. It doesn't leak much oil, like 1 drop a day. Does that effect my vtec pressure or anything? Should I just leave it alone or change the valve cover. The car runs great and everything. Thanks.
It has nothing to do with oil pressure- you could clean it and put some Hondabond on it- or you could have someone weld it if you are really concerned- or you could just leave it. I can't stand oil leaks so I would fix it if it were mine.
Don't worry about it. just take it off, clean the oil off and put a little JB Weld epoxy on it from the inside. That should take care of it. As to why it cracked in the first place? Who knows, it's not a highly stressed part but assuming that nothing else is visibally wrong with your engine i wouldn't worry about it.
