Default Cracked block

ok not sure if this is where this topic should go but anyways:
ok i have a guy looking to trade my 96 4door for his boosted z6 98 2door with 9lbs of boost his car is fairly clean (a little too rice for me but that can be fixed) the trade goes like this he gets my car i get his i keep my hids he gets his jdm yellow headlights and i get an extra d16 motor sounds like a winning trade for me right well after days of talking to the guy and me questioning why he would even consider that trade cause my ek is almost stock he tells me his has a 1.5in crack in the block...... WTF i know he said it has a temp patch (jb weld **** patch job but only leaks about a quart a month ...... im still interested in the trade but i have no cash ( lost my job) and im worried that his car will take a crap on me is there a good way to fix his block with reasonable cost or is the block a lost cause? my car runs fine and is a sure bet to last but it is a boosted car !!!!
so i guess i have 2 questions
1. is the block repairable for a low cost or is it worthless
2. given the info would anyone else risk a trade like this
thanks sorry again if this is posted in the wrong spot

Just so I understand, you have a running car, you may want to trade it for a car with a cracked block that's been fixed with JB weld, and your out of a job.

If so, walk away now, before you do something silly. 94

The fact that it took days for him to come clean about the damage to the current engine would make me have trouble trusting him enough to buy the car.

Who's to say that other engine isn't junk or that the car doesn't have other issues?
