Crack where oil pressure switch threads into
I have a crack where the oil pressure switch threads into. I did not know the sensor had a taper and i tightened it, pop, now there is a crack. How can I fix this?
Will I be able to fix it without pulling the engine? this is my daily, i work everyday and have classes, so I need this asap.
If anyone knows because they did this before or knew someone that did this please help me out. Thanks!

this happened to me about a month ago. i rebuilt my 0bd1 ls, which was previously boosted by someone else before i picked it up.
brand new internals, and it was leaking from the switch. went to re-teflon tape it and cracked the block. i tried 4 coats of jb-weld in and around the threads. even put it around the switch then screwed it in (making it permanent). the jb would not hold on that spot.
i could get it idling and warmed up and maybe drive it down my street, but eventually it would start leaking (~20 minutes of the motor running and it would leak).
i eventually gave up. my thoughts are that the jb weld cant hold there because of the temperature changes. i sold off my block and my shell and bought a different car. i just couldn't win haha.

yeah i actually pull the engine a few hours ago and im getting it tig welded tomorrow. i dont have time or money to get a different block this will do just fine anyway i dont need that sensor. Was not fun though... at all!

, you could try JB weld, make sure you do not get any on the treads. 94
