Could it be the starter? or something else?
Here is the deal: the power is constant in the thick wire and the small wire gets power when the key is in the start position, So why doesn't my car start?
Could it be the starter? or something else?

When I turn the key it does nothing, no sounds no clicking no nothing.
Sometimes you can get it to start by having someone rap on the starter with a screwdriver while you try to start. If that works, its certainly a bad starter.
Is the starter getting 12V? Make sure the ground didn't pop off? Also be sure that the ground from the Tranny to the body of the car is connected too.

it could be the battery...even if all your lights work..the battery might not have enough cold cranking amps.. sometimes jumping it wont work because the battery is really dead..u just have to replace it
If I remember correctly....
Turn the key and nothing happens means that there is a problem in the First Starting Circuit. It stems from the Battery to the Starter Solenoid, not the Starter itself.
If you turned the key and you heard a Click, then the problem is in the Second Starting Circuit. It stems from the B Terminal of the Starter Solenoid, through the Starter and to Ground..
What I would do is take a look at the Battery cables and posts and see if they're corroded or loose. Next I'd check for corroded or loose Starter Solenoid wires. Sometimes the corrosion can be underneath the plastic casing of the cables/wires..
Back to the First Starting Circuit. Turn the key and no Click, might be an Open Pull In Coil.. Wish I could tell you how to test it.. But if you do look up the procedure, let me tell you one thing.. You can always test a Coil to be faulty/bad, but you can't test it to see if it's good. This is because there could a Hot to Hot Short in it.. I don't want to get into too much detail though..
That's just what I've learned. But hey, I could be wrong.. Good luck dude..

Here's the picutre of the ground you were asking about. When I dropped this motor in, I coupletely forgot to attach it, and it didn't do **** except spark on the ground from the valve cover to the radiator support.

Last resort before buying a strater use a jumper wire and directly connect 12 VDC to the small terminal. If the strater turns over then its in the 12 volt signal from the switch, start tracing.
