Default could my map sensor make me throw a oxygen sensor code?

I have a 1989 crx hf with b18c1 converted to obd1 running a p72 ecu also tried running a chiped p28.

The car is throwing a code one. Im using the map sensor on the firewall. Could the map sensor cause me to throw a o2 code. I have replaced the o2 sensor 2 times now and also tried chanigng the 2 black wires around and chaning the white and green wire around. After each thing I pulled hazard and ecu fuse from engine bay and unpluged ecu for 4-5 minutes. Nothing worked so I changed it all back to the way the instructions in the obd1 conversion harness said. Now After 2 o2 sensor and $200 later Im still throwing a code 1. So what else should i try. Is there away to check current in those 4 wires? Could it be that i need to use the throttle body map sensor? Has anyone else had this problem. Im running in loop mode i think its called. Car idles and runs fine just running rich. I know its runnign rich because my wide band is tell me this im usually running between high 12s to low 14s. At idle warmed up im running 14.76 so thats cool. But i need this fixed...i drive partial throttle 4 or 5 gear im running close to 14.7 so that is how im been driving my car all week. Other wise im afraid of washing the cylinder walls. I dont know if that is possible but i dont want it to happen. Any input would be great. Thanks and free bumps appreciated too.

Map sensors are one the main input load sensors. If you're map is not working correctly it can send the incorrect voltage to the ecu either resulting in a rich or lean condition.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by RYANR1 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Map sensors are one the main input load sensors. So theoretically, it can help trigger a code one athough the map sensor code (5) is not on.

I am throwing a code 5 also. And I can't figure out the problem. When I put a load on the car it bogs at 3k and sounds like 2 step and the kicks in and goes. I can't figure it out ***** making me mad. I hate little minor problems like this.
