Correct located for O2 sensor in a custom exhaust?

Correct located for O2 sensor in a custom exhaust?
Hi,
I'm planning out my exhaust for a B18A (ODB0) 91 hatchback.
I have a stainless steel header which is originally for a GSR, its got no O2 bung.
Should I put the O2 sensor just after the header? Or have a bung welded into the header?
