Default Coolant temp and gauge issue?

Ok guys 97 Acura Integra Rs. Owned for about a year now and im pretty sure my car is running hot when compared to other integras. I feel like this is too hot. I've already changed EVERYTHING, well almost haha. Koyo rad, thermostat, temp sender (1 wire), main hoses, and even headgasket. Oem Honda. Also a pressure check and resurface. Timing belt + water pump. Anybody have any idea?

Do you have the ground on the valve cover?, my ek did that after a swap ended up messing with my gauge without that ground

Yeah I do have the valve cover grounded. Do you think the gauge itself is faulty?

Doesn't seem too hot to be that alarmed (changing HG). Possibly cluster is off. Just get a quality aftermarket gage. It will look cool, and won't hurt.

well the reason that I am addressing the situation now is I'm in the process of a water cooled turbo setup ( thanks Shodan) I want to get it handled before introducing more heat and power.

I wouldn't be to worried. I know when you look at the cluster on others its alot lower but from experience tuning these cars I'd say you're right about perfect. If you spike over 215+F the needle will go higher unless its broken. Usually the needles are lower on Integra around 180-190F but on my GF GSR it sits there and on datalog I see temp at 185F so I know its ok. Her RS Integra used to sit very low but datalog was still at 185F

So your thinking that the actual engine coolant temp is good and the gauge is just reading higher than others? Would the next step be to measure actual coolant temp in degrees?

hardware store get one of those forward looking infrad things... My buddy does that all the time lol... Also aftermarket gauge or a local tuner toss him 20$ to plug a ECU in with datalogging and check the live data.

Well I guess I'll go home tonight and plug my s300 ecu in and run live data through that. I'll keep you guys posted as to the results and if they come out in my favor, do you think a new cluster will do the trick? A buddy has a type r for cheap.

UPDATE: So I guess the issue is in the cluster. I ran datalogging on s300 and I got perfect temp readings. So problem solved. Thanks for the replies guys.
