Default Compression vs Flare Type AN Adapters

I have an EK that I am getting ready to do a GSR swap in. I am planning on convering the OEM fuel feed and return lines to braided hoses with AN fittings. I am just converting the lines in the engine bay. I know there are two ways to do this on a feed and my question is which is better.

1. -6 AN to 5/16ths compression adapter
2. Flare type adapter. Not completely 100% on this but would this one require a -5 nut and -5 sleeve with a -5 to -6 reducer? Or do they sell -6 to 5/16ths flare type adapters?

Thanks.

Earl's actually sells -6 to 5/16 flare adapters. Make sure to get a close quarters pipe cutter as well as extra brass flares. If you mess up just once and do not have the pipe cutter handy or extra brass flare o-rings...the job becomes an ordeal. Oh and make sure to get the flared fitting on and test it for leaks before you cut down your AN lines.

So are the flares better than using the compression fittings? The compression fittings seem less likely for problems since there is no flaring involved?

The AN flare adapter is a compression fitting. I believe you may be getting mixed up in terminology.

I'm talking about the type that doesn't require flaring. Earls calls it a compression tubing adapter that uses a ferrule, on the inside instead of the sleeve.

This is an example of the one with a compression fitting.

get the compression fitting, that's badass, i used the flare adapter and it was a pain! took me like 5 re-cut/flares to get no leak.

Ive probably sold 100 fuel tuck kits with the compression setup.

Never had a single complaint. Ranging from stock to 600+ hp setups

Okay great that's much easier than using a - 5 and then a - 5 to - 6 reducer. The compression comes in a - 6 to 5/16ths.do the flare type come in a - 6 to 5/16ths or you have to use the reducer?

The -6 isnt the same size as 5/16 thats why it needs the -5 then step up to -6.

Its easier and faster to go compression. If you need a kit or help shoot me a message and i can explain anything you need
