compression test question
ls/vtec b18 w/gsr ported head, 1/2 mm oversized valves, 11-1/2 to 1 pistons what should the compression readings be at spark plug holes i know they are several different combinations between block decking and head gasket thickness just need somekind of guideline to go by... THANKS
I dont think the number is what you should be worried about. Its the difference between cylinders, im usually happy with anything less then 15psi.
Also compression testers will read differently.
For reference my readings are between 285psi and 300psi on 13:1 with pro2's Intake set at 0,Exhaust +4 on pro gears.

if your using stock pistons and the head isnt milled dont expect anything above 240 per cylinder considering that the block has fresh rings the compression test should be done with the car at op. temperature
it all varies. dynamic compression is different then static compression.
not all gauges are the same too. so you can have one read 205 and on a diff gauge it might read 240.
