Will a compression test tell me everything a leak down would tell me?Or should i do both?

Im trying to find out if the motor was damaged from running to rich.

Also is there a way to find out if a engine has ever had Boost or Nitrous?

The compression test will help tell if there is a problem.The leakdown will help tell what the problem is.I don't know of any definitive way of telling if a motor was ever boosted or was on the bottle.
