Default Compression? No start!

I have a D16z6 engine and recently it overheated but i changed the radiator and now everything is working fine until today. I drove it yesterday with no problem, and this morning when i went to start the car. It just wont turn over. I'm pretty sure im having spark and fuel because it sounds like it going to turn over but cant due to compression? I didnt check the compression yet. But it sputters and dies. Could this be a sign of a bad headgasket?

if it has compression and the plugs look normal, then check spark and fuel for sure. visually inspect the spark by grounding plug threads with plug in a wire and have someone crank the engine. make sure the pump is supplying pressure, that the coil/ignitor are working well, etc.

check cap and rotor condition.

what you might want to do is if you are running an internal coil setup, just borrow someone's distributor rather, but i'd definately atleast give the distributor internals a looksy to see if you see any corrosion or fried parts.

if you are running an external coil, and it does not start whatsoever, then replace the external coil.
