Colored side molding for EG's
Hey guys, quick question for you body shop savvy people. I have a '94 Si, and I want to get my ugly black side moldings painted or replaced with ones that are the same color as the car (Milano Red). My car has to go into the body shop anyway for work (someone side-swiped me) and I figured now would be a good a time as any to get these side moldings taken care of. However the guy at the body shop said these side molding could not be painted due to the type of treated material. The paint would just keep flaking off, and he would just be taking my money.
Is this true? And if so, is there anywhere I can get fabricated/already painted side moldings for my Si?

Rough sanding. Lots of primer and yes they can be painted.
Or at least that is what I would think.
I have seen them painted on a lot of cars. Fowler is getting his painted, probably as I type this.
